The
core of the association is MicroStep Ltd company residing
in Bratislava, Slovak Republic. The company was founded
in 1991 by employees of Department of Control and Automation,
Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology,
Slovak Technical University in Bratislava.
The goal of the founders was to build up a company developing
and delivering microprocessor- based control technology
- both hardware and software - to various branches of industry
in former Czechoslovakia. Rapid growth of the company resulted
in founding several daughter companies most important of
which are MicroStep HDO, MicroStep PA, MicroStep RELA. In
co-operation with the daughter companies, control systems
were broadly applied in power engineering, chemical industry,
wood processing industry and mechanical engineering.
As the company founders had long term experience in the
area of multi-axis motion control systems, the development
of control systems for CNC machine tools and cutting machines
followed. In 1994 MicroStep company together with daughter
companies started production of plasma cutting machines.
New stimuli have been brought about by the co-operation
with IQM Ltd company providing team of highly qualified
machine design engineers. Gradually, the co-operation expanded
and resulted in complete series of machines introduced in
this catalogue. The machines are now delivered to the challenging
markets of European Union countries like Germany, Belgium,
the Netherlands, Denmark, Austria, etc., and also to other
countries, e. g. Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Iran. Nowadays,
agencies are being established in individual countries to
support sales and servicing of the products. Significant
contribution in marketing and entering foreign markets has
been made by the company CDM, now MicroStep CDM.
